Paul Harrod’s story

Paul Harrod is a non-executive director of Glasgow Together, the founder of Bristol Together and a director of the Together Social Business Group. Paul co-founded Aspire, which was set up in 1999 to create full-time employment for homeless people. During his time as Chief Executive, Aspire expanded to eight city operations and helped over 500 homeless people off the streets and into work. More recently Paul has held senior management positions at the University of Bristol with a particular emphasis on new research collaborations and the development of early-phase technology businesses. He has non-executive director experience at the Bristol Enterprise Development Fund, Counterpoint International and the Matthew Tree Project and was the longest serving member of the Government’s Small Business Council which advised the secretary of state for business.
